Stories of

If you like Earth 2 fan fiction, check out the Choose Your Own Journey series of books which I edited.

The following stories and filks are listed in the order I wrote them.

Stories forming a series will be listed next to each other.

"Lost Worlds"
Size:   short story; 8,458 words; 55K
Main Characters:   Mostly one of my own, some of Devon Adair
Setting:   Prior to the launch of the Roanoke
Notes:   My entrance into the "Spy on Board" contest.
Synopsis:   Dison Blalock plants another spy into the midst of Eden Project. She's prepared for anything that might stop her – she thinks.

"The Universe Sometimes Keeps Her Secrets"
Size:   short story; 4,196 words; 30K
Main Characters:   True and Ulysses
Setting:   On board the Roanoke just before the crash
Notes:   My attempted entrance into the "Uly's Father" contest. I do not consider this story to be canonical.
Synopsis:   Ulysses Adair chooses his timing perfectly to ask Devon those dreaded questions about where he came from.

"The Siren's Song"
Size:   short story; 8,427 words
Main Characters:   Danziger and Alonzo
Setting:   Two weeks before the launch of the Roanoke
Notes:   I donated "The Siren's Song" to the New Pacificon '98 Conzine, a fundraiser to help pay for an Earth 2 convention in 1998. I obtained permission from one of the editors to post this story on my web site also, since that fanzine has sold out.
Synopsis:   Buckle your seat belt for this one! John Danziger and Alonzo Solace get more than they bargained for, and lots of explosive action, when they answer a distress call from the Siren's Song.

"Heroes"
Size:   novellette; 29,973 words; 204K
Main Characters:   None from the show
Setting:   200 years after the events of Earth 2
Notes:   I wrote this story to coincide with the one-year anniversary of EvacPod Con, and I slipped a lot of in-jokes about that trip into it. "Heroes" also comes with a humorous story-before-and-after-the-story. The main character of "Heroes," in a way, is also meant to be a polite parody of science fiction fans.
Synopsis:   Archaeologist Anna LeClark sets out to uncover the secrets of the Founding Fifteen – the legendary members of Eden Advance. But her trip to uncover the past turns into a journey of her own when she comes to grips with just what it is that she's searching for.

"Playing with Fire"
Size:   short-short story; 1,032 words; 8K
Main Characters:   John Danziger
Setting:   3 years after the arrival of the colony ship
Notes:   Just something funny I wrote one day. This story assumes Devon got out of cold sleep, and I do not consider this story to be canonical.
Synopsis:   Danziger has to suffer through another birthday.

"Be Ever Vigilant"
Size:   short-short story; 340 words; 3K
Main Characters:   It's too short to have main characters.
Setting:   One summer day during the journey.
Notes:   Just something funny I wrote one day.
Synopsis:   It's too short to have a synopsis.

"Risky Business"
Size:   short-short story; 444 words; 5K
Main Characters:   Zero
Setting:   One summer day during the journey.
Notes:   Just something funny I wrote one day.
Synopsis:   Zero finds some very special penal colonists.

"Non-Humans' Night Out"
Size:   short story; 2,072 words; 15K
Main Characters:   Why, non-humans, of course. :-)
Setting:   One night during the stay in the bio-dome.
Notes:   Just something funny I wrote one day.
Synopsis:   Just what the title says.

"The Eden Bunch", a very short filk.

"G889", another very short filk.
